Enjoy and learn how to paint in acrylics with Art Garden AVL Studio Artist, Cynthia Llanes. What you’ll learn:

 

1. Overview of acrylic painting: versatility and properties

2. Basic color theory and color mixing

3. Exploring brush types and its uses

 

Basic Techniques:

 

1. Understanding layering, and underpainting

2. Blending Techniques

3. Basic Color Theory

 

Choosing Your Subject (Landscape or Still Life Composition)

 

1. Sketching and blocking shapes

2. Learning how to create contrast (Shape, Form, Value)

 

All throughout the class I will guide and demonstrate step by step techniques to create your art piece.

Participants who choose to paint a landscape must bring a reference photo as your

visual guide (photo from a magazine, photo you took with your phone). It can be a

mountain scene, forest, ocean and sunset or anything that captivates you).

 

I will bring all the objects for still life composition.

 

All materials included. Without experience is ok! This will be a fun time as you

explore the versatility of acrylics.
