Liz Niemeyer

I paint landscapes, scene-scapes and dreamscapes that capture the unique essence of the blue ridge mountains and the plant life that lives here. My paintings reflect my own feelings of awe and wonder when I look upon this place.

When I create a painting, I often drop into a meditative state and feel a deep connection to the energy that connects us all. I am an observer of and participant in the flow of divinity and use it to guide me. My intention is to inspire you to remember your connection to this flow of life and to the earth every time you look at my art.

I fell in love with painting during my time at Eastern Illinois University. At that time, I was also on a personal healing journey from addiction and used art as a meditation to serve me on this path. When I moved to Raleigh, NC in 2008, I met some incredible teachers. Through the study and practice of yoga, I finally felt connected to myself and the world around me. I also became a student of reiki, a form of energy healing.

I made the move to Asheville in 2012 and had some profound spiritual experiences; the home births of my two daughters being some of the biggest ones. I believe we are all channels for Spirit, and one way for me to express that is through my art. I hope you enjoy what you see and feel a sense of connection through it.
